Typical Classroom Wiring Plan
|
In Union City, room connectivity is accomplished by running multiple Category 5 cable (for data/voice connectivity and twostrand fiber (for future possibilities) to the nearest IDF and coax from the room to connections on the coax backbone which extends throughout the hallways in each building. Classrooms use mini-hubs to transmit to switched 10/100 Mb Ethernet hubs at each IDF. This is then switched via 100mb fiber ports to a 100mb main stack/switch at the IDF for 100mb connectivity to local servers. |
