Chicago Teachers Union Quest Center

The Chicago Teachers Union established the CTU Quest Center assisted by generous grants from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. The Center works to develop teacher leadership skills essential for school restructuring.

The CTU Quest Center's main role is to locate and assist schools that are willing to devote time, energy, and commitment required for developing the best ways of educating children.

School reform has changed the way Chicago schools are governed. Now our focus must shift gtom governance and management to the radical changes needed for effective teaching and learning. Our mission is to prepare our children for the ever-changing world in which they live.

All of us - educators, parents, students - are partners in the search for the new education model. We know that our goal is to encourage all of our children to achieve the highest academic standards possible. Never before have the consequences for not doing so been so great. Join us in our quest to reach and teach Chicago's children.

The Quest Center currently facilitates 40 schools selected through a competitive proposal process. Eleven of them are involved in the School Change and Inquiry Initiative.
