Movement Quiz

Movement as Illustration application

Activity:

This can be done as a whole class activity or by individuals

Individuals:
Ask students to open the applet called Movement as Illustration and try to identify where each of the movements is used as illustration. Ask them to keep track of how many of the 6 images they got right.

Whole class:
Show the applet and ask students to guess where the movement is used as illustration. If there is disagreement, click on the wrong answers first, read the explanation out loud and ask if students understand it. Then click on the right answer and read the explanation.

The Main Idea

The difference between using movement as illustration and as focus is the most difficult for students to understand. The little quiz is designed to give an explanation (since it describes why a movement is AND is NOT an illustration) and let students see whether they have understood the concept.
