What To Do:

Planning your Design Event

  1. Help make participants aware of the many sources of information available about their designs and inventions. If they haven't already, encourage them to collect information they have recorded about their designs / inventions from their:
    • Design Notebook
    • Design Handbook
    • Imagination Place in KAHooTZ computer files
    • Inventions published to Imagination Place!in KAHooTZ
  2. Plan to have participants present their designs / inventions created within Imagination Place! in KAHooTZ. This may mean holding the event in the computer area or printing out participant Xpressions to display.
  3. Talk to participants about the impending event. Together you can plan for the event.
  4. Allow time for participants to prepare for their presentations. Some club leaders encourage their young designers to create posters of the invention to be presented. You might want to consider a similar activity for your young designers.
  5. Prepare Imagination Place! certificates for all design club members.
  6. You might want to consider having refreshments for this culminating event.

Hosting your Design Event

  1. On the day of the event, let participants know where they can exhibit any thing they have prepared for their presentation.
  2. Allow enough time for young designers to present their inventions to the group. (Suggesting a time limit for each presenter will help ensure that each young desiger gets a chance to present.)
  3. When the presentations are complete, present an Imagination Place! certificate to each design club member and let the celebration continue and you and your club members have planned.
  4. Try to always keep in mind that Imagination Place! is designed to be fun and whimsical.
