The Academy works in partnership with states, districts, individual schools, and educational agencies on a contractual basis. In the last five years, the Academy for Teaching Excellence has served over 700 teachers in the following districts:

Results

We are beginning to collect student achievement data to correlate it with ATE activities. We can see in Cleveland that schools with teams of teachers participating in the Academy show positive preliminary achievement results.

Qualitative studies of the program show that the Academy changes the way teachers prepare lessons and what they expect of their students. Standards play prominently in lesson design and in the assessment of student learning.
